Proposed Foreshore Improvements along Lake Illawarra

Between Koonawarra and Yallah

Proposed Development:

The proposal involves the construction of a 2.5km shareway (including boardwalk sections and a bridge) for pedestrians and cyclists, 7 picnic shelters, 2 jetty / viewing platforms, minor bank protection works and maintenance of bush regeneration works along the Lake Illawarra foreshore between Koonawarra Bay and Yallah Bay.

The work forms part of a plan aimed at, amongst other things, improving recreational amenity, riparian vegetation habitats and biodiversity of the area.

Inspection of Proposal:

The proposal, including Concept Plan and Review of Environmental Factors (REF) may be inspected during office hours of 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday at:

Submissions

Any person may make a submission in relation to the proposal.

Submissions in writing should be forwarded to the Executive Officer at the address above.

The closing date for inspection of the plans and REF, and receipt of submissions is 31 July 2009.
